Happy Memorial Day Weekend from DC
The holiday weekend and unofficial start of summer is only a few
short hours away and believe it or not, it’s shaping up to be a great
weekend weather- and event-wise in Washington, DC. Less than 24 hours
ago scattered showers and thunderstorms were in the forecast, but now
you can look forward to all of your holiday observances and backyard
barbecues, as well as, the mostly sunny skies and the heat that the
Washington, DC area has come to be known for. Now that summer is
practically here, it’s the time of year for your Weekend Weather Outlooks and Things to Do in DC report.

Foggy conditions early, otherwise a mostly sunny day with a high near 89 degrees. There will be partly cloudy skies in the evening with a return of patchy fog overnight. The night time low will be around 72 degrees.

The patchy fog from late Saturday will continue into early Sunday morning followed by a mostly sunny day with a high near 93 degrees. Sunday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 72 degrees.

Mostly sunny skies with a high near 93 degrees. Overnight you can expect partly cloudy skies with lows dropping down to 74 degrees.

9 a.m. The National Park Service and the Friends of
the National World War II Memorial will sponsor a wreath-laying ceremony
in honor of our veterans. The theme for the commemoration is "Honoring
our Fallen Warriors." Many surviving WWII veterans will be in
attendance.
9 a.m.The Air Force Memorial will host a wreath
laying ceremony is open to the public. Activities include the national
anthem, invocation, speeches, the laying of the wreath and the sounding
of Taps.
10 a.m.The Navy Memorial will host a Fleet Reserve
Association Wreath laying, 12 p.m. U.S. Navy Band Concert, 1 p.m. Naval
District Washington Wreath laying.
1 p.m.At the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, this year’s
annual Memorial Day ceremony includes Presentation of the Colors,
remarks by a special guest and wreath-laying service.
